The Opportunity: Long Term Futures are seeking an experienced and dedicated SEN Class Teacher to join a highly regarded specialist primary school in the Harrow area from September 2026. The school supports pupils with a range of complex needs, including Autism (ASD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), communication needs, and associated developmental challenges. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a nurturing and well‑resourced environment where small classes, personalised learning and therapeutic support are at the heart of the curriculum. The successful candidate will be committed to helping every pupil achieve their individual potential through creative, engaging, and highly differentiated teaching.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to pupils with complex SEN needs
- Develop and implement personalised learning programmes linked to EHCP targets
- Create a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
- Support pupils' communication, independence, and social development
- Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists, and families
- Monitor, assess, and track pupil progress effectively
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing through consistent support strategies
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
- Previous experience working with pupils with SEN and complex needs
- Understanding of Autism, communication needs, and differentiated teaching approaches
- Strong classroom management and relationship‑building skills
- Passion for inclusive education and supporting vulnerable learners
- Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
