About the School:

  • A specialist SEN school providing education for young children with autism and severe learning disabilities (SLD) who find mainstream schools challenging.

  • The school follows the principles of Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) and the Pyramid Approach to education.

  • Utilises PECS to give pupils an effective means of communication.

  • Offers a differentiated curriculum tailored to meet individual pupils’ needs, ensuring access to personalised learning support.

  • Opportunities for extra-curricular activities that teach essential life skills to pupils.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored teaching and support using ABA, PECS, and other autism-focused approaches.

  • Work in a High Dependency Unit providing one-to-one support and small group interventions for children with autism and complex needs.

  • Support pupils with speech and language needs, sensory needs, and behavioural challenges in line with EHCP goals.

  • Actively participate in up to 35 specialist training courses during the first two weeks to enhance your skills and career development.

  • Collaborate as part of a professional SEN team, taking responsibility for your workload and contributing to the school’s positive, pupil-focused environment.

  • An enthusiastic individual with a passion for inclusive education.

  • Experience with or willingness to learn ABA, PECS, and autism support strategies.

  • Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant (LSA), or similar roles is beneficial but not essential.
