  • Provide personalised support to enhance students’ academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and social development through one-to-one and small group sessions.

  • Assist in daily classroom activities, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to implement Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) and Individual Behaviour Plans (IBPs).

  • Support students with challenging behaviours through positive reinforcement, de-escalation techniques, and restorative practices.

  • Foster student independence, confidence, and life skills through tailored learning activities.

  • Help students access a differentiated curriculum, encouraging active participation and engagement.

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team, working with students who have complex learning difficulties, including Autism, physical disabilities, and multiple learning needs., * Experience working with individuals with SEND, Autism (ASD), or SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs, ideally in an educational setting.

  • A genuine passion for inclusive education and the development of young people.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff.

  • A proactive and flexible approach to addressing diverse student needs and overcoming challenges.

  • Safeguarding training and an understanding of child protection policies (highly desirable).

Desirable Qualifications and Skills:

  • Level 2/3 qualification in Teaching Assistance, Learning Support, or Youth Work.

  • Training in Team Teach, positive behaviour management, or de-escalation strategies.

  • Familiarity with trauma-informed practices, mental health first aid, or supporting physical disabilities.

  • Experience with adaptive learning techniques in alternative or specialist provisions.

To Be Eligible for This Role, You Must:

  • Hold the Right to Work in the UK.

  • Have a Full UK Driving Licence.

  • Possess an Enhanced DBS certificate with child and adult barred list clearance registered on the online update service (or be willing to apply for one).

  • Provide two professional references covering the last two years.
