Long Term Futures is seeking a caring and dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Dudley. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with a range of Special Educational Needs, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. Working alongside experienced teachers and support staff, you will play a vital role in creating a positive, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment where every pupil is encouraged to succeed.

About the Role

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech & Language Needs, SEMH, and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
  • Supporting pupils to access the curriculum through tailored learning activities and interventions
  • Assisting with the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
  • Encouraging pupils to develop confidence, independence, and social skills
  • Supporting emotional regulation and promoting positive behaviour using consistent strategies
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils while maintaining professional boundaries
  • Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teachers and the SEN team
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, parents, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for pupils

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs is desirable
  • A good understanding of Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, Speech & Language Needs, or other additional needs
  • Patient, empathetic, and resilient, with a nurturing approach
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to adapt to the individual needs of pupils and work effectively as part of a team
  • Reliable, proactive, and committed to making a positive impact
  • A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs
