Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and creative lessons that support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development.
- Deliver the Year 1 curriculum effectively, ensuring lessons are inclusive, challenging, and accessible for all learners.
- Monitor pupil progress through ongoing assessment, identifying areas for support and challenge to maximise outcomes.
- Support pupils in developing strong early reading and phonics skills in line with the school’s chosen phonics programme.
- Build positive relationships with parents and carers, providing regular feedback on pupil progress and development.
Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- Experience teaching within a UK primary school setting.
- Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 1 curriculum and Year 1 expectations.
- Experience delivering high-quality phonics and early literacy teaching.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- A commitment to raising standards and supporting all pupils to achieve their potential.
- Two professional references covering your recent teaching experience.
