A dedicated Learning Support Assistant is needed to join a specialist team in a SEND School in Coalville from September 2026. The school supports children and young people with a range of additional learning needs, providing a highly inclusive and nurturing environment where every pupil is encouraged to develop confidence, independence, and achieve their full potential. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a rewarding career within specialist education while working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support across a range of subjects, including Maths and English.
  • Support pupils to access learning through personalised strategies that meet their academic, social, and emotional needs.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships that promote engagement, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour.
  • Assist pupils in developing confidence, resilience, independence, and essential life skills both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide regular feedback to teaching staff to help adapt support strategies and intervention plans.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Level 3 qualification minimum and essential.
  • Experience working with SEN students, ideally within a secondary school setting.
  • A patient, flexible, and nurturing approach to supporting young people.
  • Strong communication skills to work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and students.
  • A clear commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.
  • Someone who can commit to full-time hours, Monday to Friday, 8.40am – 15.40pm with the opportunity to progress into a permanent role.
