About the Role
- Working closely with class teachers, SENCo, and other professionals, your responsibilities will include but won't be limited to:
- Providing support to children in or out of the classroom
- Supporting the teacher in delivering well‑structured lessons
- Setting expectations specific to each child
- Delivering positive reinforcement where necessary
- Monitoring and feeding back progress and/or behaviour to teachers and parents
- Taking students out of the classroom to regulate and then reintegrate
- Helping pupils develop resilience, self‑regulation and positive social interaction
Ideal candidate profile
- Passionate and experienced with supporting pupils with SEND
- Calm, confident and able to remain regulated during behavioural incidents
- Able to build trust while maintaining clear and consistent boundaries
- Reliable and committed to a long‑term placement – a consistent face is of utmost importance
- Resilience is a key component and necessary when working within a SEND environment
