Long Term Role (Temp to Perm)

Long Term Futures are recruiting a dedicated and proactive Secondary Learning Support Assistant to join a secondary school in Ilford, working within the SEN department to support students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in SEN support or a strong interest in working with students who require additional support to access the curriculum. You will play a key role in helping pupils achieve both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support within the SEN department
  • Support students with a range of needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties
  • Assist pupils in lessons and during intervention sessions
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCo and pastoral teams
  • Help implement EHCP targets and support plans
  • Promote engagement, independence and inclusion
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Experience supporting students with SEN needs (desirable)
  • Confidence working in a secondary school environment
  • A patient, proactive and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Understanding of safeguarding and inclusive practice
  • Background in education, youth work or care (desirable)
