Location: Handsworth, Birmingham B20

Days: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)

A welcoming and well-led primary school in Handsworth is looking for a committed Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2 class full-time from September.

This role is perfect for someone with Key Stage 1 experience who enjoys helping children develop their confidence, literacy, and independence through guided group work and 1:1 support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils within a Year 2 class
  • Work closely with the class teacher to plan and deliver engaging learning activities
  • Provide targeted support to pupils who need extra help reaching age-related expectations
  • Help with behaviour management and pastoral care
  • Contribute to a calm, positive and supportive learning environment

You Will Need:

  • A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or a relevant qualification
  • Previous experience supporting children in KS1 (Year 1 or Year 2 ideally)
  • A nurturing, reliable, and proactive attitude
  • Strong understanding of the Year 2 curriculum and phonics (Read Write Inc. or Letters & Sounds)
  • A genuine passion for working with children and helping them thrive
