A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Haringey is looking to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support two pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) within a Year 1 classroom. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping both pupils access learning, develop social and communication skills, and engage positively with their peers.
This is a highly interactive role where you'll be expected to actively participate in classroom activities, provision-based learning, and play, ensuring the children remain engaged and supported throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities:- Providing tailored support for two pupils with ASD within a Year 1 classroom
- Supporting learning through structured activities and continuous provision
- Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation using school-based strategies
- Assisting pupils with transitions throughout the school day
- Developing social communication and interaction skills
- Working closely with the class teacher and SEND team to implement interventions and support plans
- Engaging pupils through play, creativity, and practical learning opportunities
- Promoting independence, confidence, and participation in classroom life

The Ideal Candidate:- Has experience supporting children with ASD, SEN, or additional learning needs

- Can actively engage children through play and provision-based learning
