Long Term Futures is recruiting a confident and compassionate SEMH Specialist Teaching Assistant for a supportive primary setting in B13. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building strong relationships and supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs. You will work closely with pupils who require consistency, emotional regulation support and clear boundaries to help them re-engage with learning. This is a rewarding, hands-on role where your impact will be felt every single day.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small-group SEMH support to pupils
- Support emotional regulation using calm, consistent strategies
- Promote positive behaviour and de-escalation techniques
- Help pupils build confidence, resilience and independence
- Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENDCo and pastoral teams
- Support pupils both in and out of the classroom when needed
Who We’d Love to Hear From
- Experience in SEMH, behaviour support or pastoral roles
- Experience in SEN schools, alternative provisions or mainstream settings
- Experience in youth work, mentoring, care or residential support
- Experience in sports coaching, mental health support or wellbeing roles
- Enhanced DBS is required (or willingness to apply)
