Daily Pay: £105 - £155

Hours: Monday to Friday | 8:30am - 3:30pm

Are you a calm, resilient and proactive Behaviour Mentor who can be the consistent adult that children with additional needs rely on each day? Long Term Futures is working alongside a welcoming and inclusive primary school in B16 to recruit an experienced Behaviour Mentor. This long-term position focuses on supporting three boys across KS1 and KS2, each presenting with a range of SEMH and SEND needs. The school is looking for someone who understands behaviour as communication and can provide structure, reassurance and positive role modelling throughout the school day. This role is ideal for a Behaviour Mentor who enjoys building strong relationships, supporting emotional regulation and helping children re-engage with learning in a safe, supportive environment.

The Role

  • Provide targeted 1:1 and small-group behaviour support to pupils with SEMH and SEND
  • Support pupils across KS1 and KS2, adapting strategies to suit different ages and needs
  • Implement individual behaviour support plans, de-escalation techniques and regulation strategies
  • Support children during lessons, transitions, breaktimes and unstructured periods
  • Promote positive behaviour, boundaries and routines through consistency and calm communication
  • Work closely with class teachers, SENDCo and pastoral staff to ensure a joined-up approach
  • Encourage engagement, confidence and emotional resilience within the school setting

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience working with SEMH and SEND in a primary or specialist setting
  • Confidence supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, emotional regulation difficulties and challenging behaviour
  • A patient, empathetic and resilient approach to behaviour support
  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
  • Experience working with children in KS1 and KS2
  • A proactive, reliable attitude and the ability to build trust quickly
