Teaching Assistant

Location: Leicestershire (LE12)
Pay: 100 – 110 per day
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Long-term to permanent

About the Role

We are recruiting a Teaching Associate to join a specialist provision in the LE12 area. The school supports pupils aged 6-17 with social, emotional and mental health needs, often alongside Autism or additional learning needs. Classes are small with high staff ratios, and pupils follow a personalised curriculum including academic lessons, outdoor learning, life skills and therapeutic activities.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups
  • Help students with emotional regulation, confidence and behaviour
  • Assist with learning activities across academic, creative and outdoor subjects
  • Support daily routines and create a positive learning environment
  • Work closely with teachers and support staff to meet pupils’ individual needs

Requirements

  • Experience with SEN, SEMH, Autism, youth work or sports coaching is desirable
  • Calm, patient and confident approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to build positive, trusting relationships
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
