As a Teaching Assistant - SEMH Support, you will play a vital role in providing personalised support to students in a small, nurturing environment. You will work closely with teaching staff to help pupils manage their behaviour, develop essential social skills, and engage positively with their learning.
Key Responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant - SEMH Support Role:
- Deliver 1-1 and group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
- Support students in managing their emotions and behaviours using calm, consistent approaches.
- Help maintain a safe and supportive environment where students feel valued.
- Collaborate with the school team to develop and follow personalised learning and behaviour plans.

What We’re Looking For in a Teaching Assistant - SEMH Support:
- Experience working with children who have SEMH or special educational needs (SEN).
- A background in working in any capacity with children/young people is essential e.g. Youth Work, Sports Coach, Teaching Assistant, Residential Care, Social Work, Probation Worker or Youth Offending.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with students, staff, and families.
