Teaching Assistant

Location: Loughborough/Leicestershire (LE12)

Pay: £90 – £100 per day

Start Date: Interview arranged Asap

Contract: Long-term to permanent

Hours: Monday to Thursday: 8:15am – 16:30pm, Friday: 8:15am – 3:15pm

About the Role

Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in a specialist SEMH environment?

We are partnered with a respected SEMH school located in a small village in Leicestershire (LE12). This specialist SEMH school supports pupils aged 7-16, providing a nurturing, therapeutic environment tailored to their needs. Students are taught in small groups with high levels of staff support, enabling them to build trust, regulate their emotions and re-engage positively with learning.

The successful candidate will be able to build positive relationships and use a range of strategies to keep pupils engaged. You will be supporting students across a wide range of lessons including Life Skills, PE, Art, Cooking and Forest School.

What You\’ll Be Doing

  • Providing dedicated support to students with SEMH needs through 1:1 and small-group work
  • Assisting class teachers in delivering engaging and structured lessons
  • Promoting positive behaviour, resilience and emotional development
  • Helping students build essential social, life and learning skills
  • Contributing to classroom management, safe learning environments and pupil wellbeing

What We\’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a SEMH or SEN setting
  • Patient, calm and adaptable approach with a genuine interest in supporting young learners
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Enhanced DBS required (or willing to apply)
