Hours: Monday-Thursday: 8:15am – 4:30pm, Friday: 8:15am – 3:15pm

The Opportunity
Long Term Futures is recruiting a Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH school based in a village setting in the LE12 area. The school supports pupils aged 7-16 who benefit from a calm, structured and therapeutic approach to education.

With small class sizes and high staff-to-pupil ratios, the school focuses on building trust, supporting emotional regulation and helping pupils re-engage with learning. The curriculum is broad and engaging, incorporating Life Skills, PE, Art, Cooking and Forest School, giving pupils opportunities to learn in practical and meaningful ways.

Responsibilities

Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups across the school day
Assist teachers with the delivery of structured and engaging lessons
Promote positive behaviour, emotional development and resilience
Help pupils develop social skills, independence and confidence
Contribute to a safe, supportive and well-managed learning environment
What We\’re Looking For

Experience supporting children or young people, ideally within SEMH or SEN
A calm, patient and adaptable approach
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Ability to work well as part of a supportive, multidisciplinary xiskglj team
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
