Long Term Futures are looking for a caring and proactive Teaching Assistant to work in a mainstream school supporting students with SEN in the Sutton area. This role will involve supporting multiple pupils with Autism and additional needs within the grounds of the school.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a supportive SEN environment and can provide structure, consistency, and encouragement to pupils who require additional support throughout the school day.
About the Role:
- Working closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and wider SEN team, your duties will include:
- Supporting pupils with Autism and additional needs within SEN hubs
- Providing both small group and individual support throughout the day
- Supporting learning, engagement, and emotional regulation
- Using clear routines and consistent approaches to help pupils feel settled
- Assisting pupils during lessons and structured activities
- Supporting communication, social interaction, and independence
- Working collaboratively with teaching staff and SEN professionals
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Experience supporting pupils with ASD and other associated needs.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to maintain clear expectations and consistent boundaries
- Reliable and committed to a long-term placement
- Previous experience working in schools, care and support or children with learning difficulties would be advantageous.
