Long Term Futures are recruiting confident and adaptable Cover Supervisors to work within a range of secondary schools in Hackney, supporting students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. These roles are ideal for candidates with experience in education looking to gain further classroom experience, particularly those with QTS, ECT status or aspirations towards teaching. You will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning during teacher absences and supporting wider school life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons across a variety of subjects
  • Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment
  • Support students in remaining engaged and on task
  • Work across KS3 and KS4 within different departments
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and pastoral teams
  • Provide additional classroom and intervention support where required

Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Experience working within a secondary school setting
  • Confidence leading classes and managing behaviour
  • QTS or ECT status (desirable)
  • A proactive, resilient and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • Understanding of safeguarding and inclusive practice
