Long Term Futures are recruiting an ambitious and experienced Head of Spanish to join a high-performing secondary school in South West London from September 2026. This is an exciting leadership opportunity for an outstanding Languages teacher with the ability to teach Spanish to A Level and French at Key Stage 3/4. The successful candidate will lead the strategic development of Spanish across the school while working within a successful and supportive Languages department. The school is seeking a passionate practitioner who can drive high standards of teaching and learning, support curriculum development and contribute to wider school life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of Spanish across KS3, KS4 and KS5
  • Teach Spanish to A Level and French at KS3
  • Support curriculum planning, assessment and departmental strategy
  • Drive student progress and attainment within Languages
  • Support and contribute to staff development within the department
  • Promote engagement in languages through enrichment and wider opportunities

Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) – essential
  • Experience teaching Spanish at secondary level, including A Level
  • Ability to teach French at KS3
  • Strong curriculum knowledge and leadership potential
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • Commitment to high standards and student achievement
