Are you a caring and experienced Teaching Assistant looking to support children in the early years of primary education? A friendly and supportive infant setting in Smethwick is looking for a confident KS1 TA to join their team, providing classroom support, targeted interventions and dedicated SEN assistance. This long-term role offers the chance to make a genuine difference in a nurturing school environment where every child is encouraged to thrive.
Responsibilities
- Supporting teaching and learning across Key Stage 1 classes
- Leading small-group interventions in phonics, literacy and numeracy
- Providing tailored 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs
- Adapting activities to suit different learning abilities and styles
- Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Working closely with teachers and the SEN team to support pupil progress
Qualifications
- Previous experience working within a KS1 setting
- Knowledge of phonics and early learning strategies
- Experience supporting children with SEN and additional learning needs
- A calm, patient and enthusiastic approach
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
