SEN Teaching Assistant
- Location: Northfield, Birmingham
- Weekly Rate: 480-500
- Start Date: ASAP
- Days: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)

Long Term Futures are looking for a caring and patient SEN Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream primary school in Northfield. The role involves supporting children in Early Years and Key Stage One with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Speech, Language and Communication Needs & SEMH. You\βll be joining a friendly, supportive team dedicated to helping every child reach their full potential.
The Role
This role is based within the school\βs Pathways Provision, a specialist setting designed to support children with complex Autism, SEMH and communication difficulties. The provision provides a calm, structured environment with access to sensory areas, outdoor learning spaces, and therapeutic interventions. You will work closely with the class teacher and SEN staff to help pupils develop their communication, social, and independence skills. Support will be provided on a 1:1 basis or in small, structured groups. This is a long-term position with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience working in a school or preschool setting
- Confident supporting children 1:1 or in small groups
- Experience or understanding of ASD, SLCN,SEMβ¦
- Knowledge of sensory regulation and therapeutic support strategies
- Understanding of the EYFS framework
- Holds TA qualifications or a relevant degree
- Calm, patient, and able to work as part of a supportive team
