Long Term Futures are working with a wide network of secondary schools across Derbyshire to recruit subject specialist teachers ahead of the September 2026 academic year. We are supporting schools across areas such as Burton on Trent, Derby City and Chesterfield, including all surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity for secondary teachers who want to secure their next role early, find the right school fit, and benefit from a recruitment partner that prioritises long-term stability and career progression.
We are recruiting across a range of subjects including English, Maths, Science, Humanities, MFL and other core secondary subjects, with opportunities available at KS3 and KS4, and KS5 where applicable.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons within your subject specialism
- Teach across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 opportunities available in some schools)
- Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment
- Assess student progress and adapt teaching to meet individual needs
- Work collaboratively with department teams, pastoral staff and leadership
- Support student attainment, wellbeing and academic progress
- Experience teaching in a secondary school setting in line with the UK curriculum
- QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Completion of ECT years is desirable
- Strong subject knowledge within your specialism
- Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
- Long-term and permanent secondary teaching roles only
- Daily and salaried pay in line with the Main Pay Scale
- Secure roles early for September 2026
- Trial days arranged to ensure the school is the right fit
- One-to-one support from a dedicated consultant with strong Derbyshire school partnerships
