We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Derby, teaching KS3 and KS4 pupils. This is a long-term position starting ASAP, with a strong view to becoming permanent for the right candidate. This role would suit a teacher who is confident delivering engaging Science lessons, maintaining high expectations, and supporting pupils of mixed abilities in a structured and supportive environment.

The Role

  • Teaching Science across KS3 and KS4 (Biology, Chemistry and Physics)
  • Planning and delivering engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons
  • Assessing pupil progress and adapting teaching to meet individual needs
  • Managing classroom behaviour effectively and positively
  • Working collaboratively with the Science department and wider staff team

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds QTS, QTLS or a UK‑recognised Science PGCE
  • Experience teaching Science at secondary level (KS3 & KS4)
  • Strong classroom management and behaviour strategies
  • Passionate about pupil progress and inclusive education
  • Available to start immediately or at short notice
  • ECTs and experienced teachers are both encouraged to apply.
