Children’s Residential Support Worker – Make a Lasting Impact on Young Lives!

Location: Swadlincote, Derbyshire (DE11)
Salary: 27,528 – 32,072 per annum ( 11.85 – 12.65 per hour + 60 per sleep-in)
Job Type: Full-time, Long-term to Permanent
Shift Pattern: Rolling rota, 08:00 AM – 11:00 PM (includes sleep-ins)

In this fulfilling role, you will provide care, support, and guidance to children with learning disabilities, including Autism, ADHD, and non-verbal communication, helping them thrive in a safe and nurturing environment.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide care and guidance in line with Ofsted regulations, ensuring each child’s safety, education, and personal development.
  • Create a positive, supportive atmosphere where children feel valued and empowered.
  • Collaborate closely with the Registered Manager to ensure smooth daily operations.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience with Autism, ADHD, or non-verbal communication is a plus, but if you’re enthusiastic and willing to learn, we can provide full training.
  • Knowledge of Makaton or PECS is desirable, but not essential.
  • A valid UK/EU manual driving licence is highly desirable but not essential.
  • Flexibility to work a rolling rota with sleep-in shifts.
  • An enhanced DBS and safer recruitment checks (we can help with this).

Example Rota:

  • Week 1: Monday, Thursday, Saturday
  • Week 2: Tuesday, Friday, Sunday
  • Week 3: Wednesday
