Long Term Futures is recruiting an experienced and confident Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a supportive primary school in Nottingham from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled HLTA who enjoys taking an active role in teaching and learning. The successful candidate will work across the school delivering interventions, leading learning activities and providing class cover when required, while helping to drive pupil progress and attainment.

The school is looking for someone with strong classroom presence, excellent communication skills and the confidence to lead learning independently when needed.

About the Role

  • Delivering planned lessons during teacher release time and short-term cover
  • Leading targeted intervention groups in English and Maths
  • Supporting pupils across a range of abilities, including those with SEND
  • Working with teachers to adapt learning activities and resources
  • Promoting positive behaviour and maintaining high classroom expectations
  • Monitoring pupil progress and feeding back to teaching staff
  • Supporting the wider life of the school and contributing to pupil outcomes

This is a varied role offering a balance of classroom leadership, intervention work and pupil support.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • HLTA qualification or significant experience operating at HLTA level
  • Previous experience within a primary school setting
  • Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum
  • Confident leading whole-class learning independently
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND and additional learning needs
  • Excellent behaviour management and communication skills
  • Organised, proactive and committed to pupil success
