Maths Teacher – SEMH School (KS1-KS4)
Location: Sutton-in-Ashfield (NG17)
Daily Rate: 180 – 250 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only, Long Term to Permanent
Start Date: September 2025

Long Term Futures are looking for a dedicated and resilient Maths Teacher to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) provision in Sutton-in-Ashfield. This nurturing school supports students from Key Stage 1 through to Key Stage 4, all of whom require structured, compassionate teaching due to complex emotional and behavioural needs.

We are seeking a Maths Teacher who can deliver high-quality, accessible lessons that encourage progress and rebuild confidence in learners who have often disengaged from traditional classrooms. Starting in September 2025, this full-time role offers the chance to truly change lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver creative and differentiated maths lessons across KS1 to KS4, including GCSE-level content
  • Establish trusting relationships to support emotional regulation and positive behaviour
  • Tailor your teaching to meet individual learning needs and EHCP targets
  • Work collaboratively with behaviour mentors, SENCOs, and external agencies
  • Foster numeracy skills while building resilience and a renewed love for learning

Role Requirements:

  • QTS (or equivalent) and experience working as a Maths Teacher, ideally within an SEMH, PRU, or alternative provision
  • Strong classroom management and de-escalation skills
  • Empathy, patience, and adaptability
  • A deep commitment to inclusive, trauma-informed practice
