Long Term Futures are recruiting an ambitious and experienced Head of Spanish to join a high-performing secondary school in South West London from September 2026. This is an exciting leadership opportunity for an outstanding Languages teacher with the ability to teach Spanish to A Level and French at Key Stage 3/4. The successful candidate will lead the strategic development of Spanish across the school while working within a successful and supportive Languages department. The school is seeking a passionate practitioner who can drive high standards of teaching and learning, support curriculum development and contribute to wider school life.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of Spanish across KS3, KS4 and KS5
- Teach Spanish to A Level and French at KS3
- Support curriculum planning, assessment and departmental strategy
- Drive student progress and attainment within Languages
- Support and contribute to staff development within the department
- Promote engagement in languages through enrichment and wider opportunities
Ideal Candidate Will Have
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) – essential
- Experience teaching Spanish at secondary level, including A Level
- Ability to teach French at KS3
- Strong curriculum knowledge and leadership potential
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Commitment to high standards and student achievement
