Long Term Futures is supporting a school with a full-time Primary Teaching Assistant role. This is an immediate opportunity to support a local primary school in Newham. Starting ASAP, you will be working across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, providing vital classroom support and helping to bridge learning gaps for students as they progress toward the summer break.

The school is a welcoming and inclusive primary setting based in the diverse borough of Newham. They are known for their supportive staff team and their commitment to ensuring every child reaches their full potential through a creative and engaging curriculum.

Responsibilities:
  • Assisting the class teacher in the delivery of daily lessons and activities.
  • Working with small groups of students to specialise in core subjects like Literacy and Numeracy.
  • Supporting students with additional learning needs or those requiring extra emotional support.
  • Preparing classroom resources and maintaining an organised learning environment.
  • Supervising students during break times and ensuring their safety at all times.
Essential Candidate Requirements:
  • Previous experience supporting children in a primary school or similar educational setting.
  • A patient, adaptable, and proactive approach to supporting student learning.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with children and staff.
  • A basic understanding of the Primary National Curriculum.
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
