Learning Support Assistant - Year 4 in Islington, N7 (commutable from Tufnell Park, Holloway, Kentish Town, Camden, Archway)

110-120 per day

Start Date: ASAP

Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary

Long Term Futures is working with a supportive primary school in Islington to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with ASD and ADHD. The pupil has an EHCP and benefits from a calm, consistent adult who can build a positive relationship and provide structured support throughout the school day. This role would suit someone with a steady, patient approach, who understands how to support pupils who can become overwhelmed or disengaged.

About the Role

  • Provide consistent 1:1 support across the school day
  • Support the pupil in maintaining focus, engagement and routine
  • Use clear, calm communication and a measured approach
  • Help the pupil manage emotional regulation and transitions
  • Encourage positive behaviour through rapport and consistency
  • Adapt your approach to avoid overly directive or confrontational interactions
  • Support access to the KS2 curriculum
