Learning Support Assistant - Year 4

Long Term Futures is working with a supportive primary school in Islington to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with ASD and ADHD. The pupil has an EHCP and benefits from a calm, consistent adult who can build a positive relationship and provide structured support throughout the school day. This role would suit someone with a steady, patient approach, who understands how to support pupils who can become overwhelmed or disengaged.
About the Role
- Provide consistent 1:1 support across the school day
- Support the pupil in maintaining focus, engagement and routine
- Use clear, calm communication and a measured approach
- Help the pupil manage emotional regulation and transitions
- Encourage positive behaviour through rapport and consistency
- Adapt your approach to avoid overly directive or confrontational interactions
- Support access to the KS2 curriculum
