We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and caring individual to join a welcoming and inclusive KS1 team at a supportive primary school as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant in Shard End, Birmingham. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young learners during their crucial early years of education.
Your Day-to-Day:
- Provide classroom and small-group support across Year 1 and Year 2, helping pupils engage in English, phonics and early maths.
- Deliver targeted intervention sessions to boost progress and confidence in key skills.
- Offer 1:1 support for pupils who need additional help, including those with mild SEND or learning barriers.
- Promote positive behaviour, independence and teamwork throughout the school day.
- Support the class teacher with lesson preparation, resources and assessment feedback.
- Create a warm, safe and inclusive environment where every child can thrive.
- Liaise with teachers, the SENCO and parents to share progress and celebrate achievements.
About You:
- Hold a Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent).
- Experience working within a primary school, ideally within KS1.
- Confident delivering learning activities and supporting the teacher with lesson delivery.
- Patient, encouraging and able to build strong, positive relationships with children.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge or experience of supporting pupils with SEN, speech and language or social/emotional needs is advantageous but not essential.
