Long Term Futures are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Lambeth. The successful candidate will work within the school's SEN provision, supporting pupils with Autism and a range of additional needs to access learning and develop key social and emotional skills. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with SEND and enjoys working as part of a collaborative team to help pupils achieve their full potential.
About the Role:
- Support pupils with Autism and additional needs within specialist SEN provisions and intervention spaces
- Deliver both 1:1 and small-group support tailored to individual pupil needs
- Encourage engagement, participation, and independence throughout the school day
- Help pupils develop positive relationships, communication skills, and emotional resilience
- Adapt support strategies to meet a variety of learning and behavioural needs
- Contribute to a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment
- Liaise effectively with teachers, support staff, and external professionals where required
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Experience supporting pupils with ASD and other associated needs
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to maintain clear expectations and consistent boundaries
- Reliable and committed to a long-term placement
- Previous experience working in schools, care and support or children with learning difficulties would be advantageous
