Long Term Futures is seeking an energetic and engaging Sports Coach Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 5 pupil with SEND needs in a welcoming Nottingham primary school.
This role is ideal for someone with a background in sports coaching, mentoring or youth work who can use their enthusiasm, resilience and positive attitude to build a strong relationship with a pupil requiring additional support. The school is looking for someone who can act as a positive role model, helping the child remain engaged in learning while promoting confidence, emotional regulation and participation throughout the school day.
About the Role
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 5 pupil with SEND needs
- Using sports, movement and active learning strategies to promote engagement
- Supporting behaviour, emotional regulation and social development
- Encouraging participation in classroom activities and structured interventions
- Building a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil
- Supporting learning across the KS2 curriculum
- Promoting independence, resilience and self-confidence
- Working collaboratively with teaching staff to implement support strategies
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Previous experience as a Sports Coach, Teaching Assistant, Youth Worker or Mentor
- Experience supporting children with SEND, SEMH or behavioural needs
- Energetic, engaging and confident in building relationships with pupils
- Able to remain calm and positive when faced with challenges
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Passionate about helping children achieve their potential
