The Opportunity
A warm and forward-thinking school in Alfreton (DE55) is seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join its supportive and dedicated team. This long-term position offers stability, consistent hours, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on pupils\’ learning and development.
In this role, you will provide targeted additional tuition to Year 9 learners, helping them strengthen their foundational core subject skills and preparing them for future GCSE study.
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver pre-planned lessons in line with the curriculum and school priorities.
- Lead targeted interventions for individuals and small groups to support learning.
- Promote positive behaviour, focus, and engagement in lessons.
- Cover classes when teachers are unavailable, ensuring continuity of learning.
- Work closely with teachers, SEN staff, and the pastoral team to support student development.

- HLTA qualification or equivalent secondary school experience.
- Confident working with KS3 and KS4 pupils.
- Strong classroom management and behaviour support skills.
- Flexible, resilient, and committed to helping every pupil succeed.
