Long Term Futures is seeking a confident and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support Year 6 pupils across three classes in a welcoming Harrow primary school. This role is centred around delivering targeted English and Maths interventions to small groups of pupils in preparation for the transition into secondary education. The school is looking for someone with strong KS2 curriculum knowledge who can work independently and build pupils' confidence and attainment.
A Level 4 HLTA qualification is desirable, although the school will also consider a highly experienced Teaching Assistant with a strong background in upper KS2 support and intervention delivery.
About the RoleWorking closely with Year 6 teachers and senior leaders, your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering small-group English and Maths interventions across three Year 6 classes
- Supporting pupils in closing learning gaps and improving confidence
- Reinforcing core KS2 skills through structured and engaging sessions
- Adapting learning materials to meet varying abilities and needs
- Monitoring pupil progress and feeding back to teaching staff
- Supporting classroom learning where required during non-intervention time
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced TA or HLTA who enjoys academic support work and making a measurable impact on pupil progress.
