Long Term Futures is recruiting an enthusiastic and energetic Sports Coach to join a welcoming secondary school in Hackney. This full-time role is ideal for someone with a background in coaching, mentoring, or youth work who is passionate about using sport to inspire, motivate, and positively influence young people. Working closely with the PE department and pastoral team, you will support students both inside and outside the classroom, promoting positive behaviour, engagement, teamwork, and resilience. Responsibilities Deliver engaging sports and physical activity sessions that promote participation and confidence. Support students during PE lessons, extracurricular clubs, and school sporting events. Build positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and personal development. Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring for students who require additional support. Promote positive behaviour and model high expectations across the school. Encourage teamwork, resilience, respect, and healthy lifestyles. Work collaboratively with teaching staff and pastoral teams to support student progress. Assist with behaviour management and help maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment. Support students with varying learning and behavioural needs throughout the school day. Contribute positively to the wider school community. Essential Candidate Requirements Previous experience as a Sports Coach, PE Coach, Teaching Assistant, Behaviour Mentor, Youth Worker, or similar role. A passion for working with young people and supporting their development. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Confident managing behaviour in a calm and positive manner. Energetic, reliable, and enthusiastic with a proactive approach. Experience working with secondary-aged students is desirable.
