Long Term Futures are recruiting an experienced Level 6 Early Years Practitioner to join a nursery setting in Ilford on an immediate, long-term basis. This is not a standard Nursery Assistant position. The nursery is specifically looking for a highly qualified Early Years Practitioner who can take greater responsibility for children's learning, development and the delivery of the EYFS curriculum.
The successful candidate must hold a relevant Early Years qualification, with the qualification meeting the requirements necessary for the position. Candidates with Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS), Early Years Professional Status (EYPS), QTS or another appropriate higher-level Early Years qualification are particularly encouraged to apply. The role is available immediately and is being offered on a long-term temp-to-perm basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality learning and development through the EYFS
- Plan engaging, age-appropriate activities for children aged 0-5
- Observe, assess and record children's progress and development
- Take responsibility for key children and contribute to individual learning plans
- Support children's communication, social, emotional and physical development
- Identify additional needs and work alongside the SENCO where required
- Build strong relationships with parents and carers
- Support and guide less experienced Early Years staff where appropriate
- Maintain excellent safeguarding, welfare and health and safety standards
Essential Requirements:
- Relevant higher-level Early Years qualification
- Qualification must be appropriate/relevant for working within an EYFS setting
- Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage
- Previous experience working within a nursery or Early Years environment
- Experience planning, observing and assessing children's development
- Strong understanding of safeguarding within Early Years
- Confidence taking responsibility within the nursery environment
