Long Term Futures is working with a warm, inclusive primary school in the CV2 area to recruit a caring EYFS Teaching Assistant with a strong interest in SEND and early intervention. This long-term opportunity offers the chance to support Nursery pupils in the morning and Reception pupils in the afternoon, providing consistency and reassurance during a crucial stage of development. There is clear potential for the role to become permanent for the right candidate. This position would suit someone who understands how powerful early years support can be for children with additional needs and who takes pride in building trusting relationships.
The Role
- Support whole-class learning within Nursery and Reception
- Work closely with children presenting with SEND, including ASD, speech & language delays, and sensory needs
- Assist with the delivery of phonics, early literacy, and communication-based activities
- Use visual supports, Makaton, PECS, and structured routines to aid understanding and engagement
- Help children develop emotional regulation, confidence, and positive learning behaviours
- Collaborate with the class teacher and SENDCo to deliver consistent, inclusive support
What the School Is Looking For
- Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching & Learning qualification (or equivalent)
- At least one year of experience in an EYFS, Primary, or Preschool setting
- Confident supporting children with SEND within early years environments
- A secure understanding of the EYFS curriculum and learning through play
- A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
