Long Term Futures are seeking an enthusiastic KS1 / Year 1 Teacher for a reputable 'Good' Ofsted-rated School situated in Thornton Heath, Croydon (CR7). Commencing ASAP, this role is a long-term placement expected to run until at least July, with excellent prospects for transitioning into a permanent contract or extending, depending on mutual agreement. The Position: Inspiring Key Stage 1 Success

This is an essential full-time teaching role within a dedicated and collaborative infant school. You will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing engaging lessons aligned with the KS1 National Curriculum.

  • Plan and deliver effective and creative lessons aligned with the KS1 National Curriculum for your Year 1 class.
  • Assess pupil learning and progress accurately, using this insight to differentiate instruction for diverse learners (EAL, SEND needs).
  • Implement positive strategies to manage behaviour effectively, ensuring a calm and productive classroom environment.
  • Build and maintain professional communication and relationships with pupils, parents/carers, and colleagues.
  • Actively participate in and contribute to the positive atmosphere and wider curriculum development initiatives of the school.

Essential Candidate Requirements

  • Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and possess a relevant degree. We cannot accept applications from Early Career Teachers (ECTs); successful candidates must have completed their statutory induction.
  • Previous teaching experience within KS1, preferably in Year 1.
  • Demonstrate solid knowledge and understanding of the KS1 National Curriculum.
  • Possess proven skills in classroom practice and pupil behaviour management.
  • Dedicated to upholding rigorous safeguarding standards and promoting the welfare of all children.
