As a Catering Assistant with Learning Support responsibilities, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the catering provision while also supporting pupils within the classroom. The provision supports pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs, providing a structured and nurturing environment to help them re-engage with education. As the school develops its vocational curriculum, the successful candidate will also support food technology and catering-based lessons, assisting pupils with practical cooking activities, food preparation skills, and employability-focused learning. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to combine catering experience with a passion for supporting young people.
The Role:
- Support with the preparation and distribution of breakfast, break-time snacks, and lunch (minimal food prep required, meals are delivered from another site)
- Ensure catering service runs smoothly and maintain a clean, safe environment
- Work as a Learning Support Assistant, supporting pupils within lessons, particularly practical food sessions
- Support students with engagement, behaviour, and routines throughout the school day
- Work collaboratively with teaching and pastoral staff to support pupil development
