Long Term Futures are working in partnership with a Further Education provider in Burton upon Trent to appoint an experienced Motor Vehicle Course Tutor on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking, learner-centred department committed to developing the next generation of automotive technicians. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching across Level 1, 2 and 3 Motor Vehicle programmes, supporting learners to achieve excellent outcomes in both practical and theoretical components, while also taking a lead role in course coordination and learner progress.
The Role:
- Deliver engaging Motor Vehicle lessons across Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 programmes
- Plan, prepare and assess student work in line with awarding body requirements
- Monitor attendance, retention, achievement, and learner progress
- Support and facilitate practical workshop-based learning and technical development
- Promote positive attitudes, behaviours, and professional industry standards
- Work collaboratively with Curriculum Team Leaders, Course Leaders, and management staff
- Support course organisation, quality assurance processes, and curriculum development
We Are Looking For:
- If successful, you must be available to start ASAP or September 2026
- A recognised Motor Vehicle qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
- Strong industry knowledge and hands-on experience within Motor Vehicle maintenance and repair
- Recent teaching experience within an FE setting is desirable, although industry professionals looking to move into education are encouraged to apply
- Experience delivering Motor Vehicle programmes up to Level 3 is desirable
- You should hold, or be willing to work towards, Level 2 English and Maths qualifications. Evidence of qualifications is required
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to maintain accurate learner records
