We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school (SEMH) provision in south Leicester. This role focuses on supporting learners with behavioural special educational needs (SEN), helping them to access education within a supportive and inclusive environment. The school focuses on building positive relationships, promoting emotional regulation, and delivering tailored learning plans to help every pupil achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with behavioural needs
- Support the delivery of engaging and differentiated lessons alongside the class teacher
- Implement behaviour strategies and support a structured environment with high expectations
- Help pupils regulate emotions, develop social skills, and engage positively in learning
- Support personalised learning pathways and access to appropriate accreditation
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external professionals
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

- A teaching assistant with a genuine passion for supporting young people with SEMH needs
- Experience working with pupils with SEMH, behavioural needs, or additional needs (school, AP, PRU, or similar)
- Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships
