Long Term Futures is recruiting a confident and compassionate SEMH Specialist Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary setting in B13. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building strong relationships and supporting pupils who present with social, emotional and mental health needs. You will work closely with pupils who require consistency, emotional regulation support and clear boundaries to help them re-engage with learning. This is a rewarding, hands-on role where your impact will be felt every single day.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small-group SEMH support to pupils
- Support emotional regulation using calm, consistent strategies
- Promote positive behaviour and de-escalation techniques
- Help pupils build confidence, resilience and independence
- Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENDCo and pastoral teams
- Support pupils both in and out of the classroom when needed
Who We’d Love to Hear From
This role is well suited to candidates with experience in:
- SEMH, behaviour support or pastoral roles
- SEN schools, alternative provisions or mainstream settings
- Youth work, mentoring, care or residential support
- Sports coaching, mental health support or wellbeing roles
An Enhanced DBS is required (or willingness to apply).
