KS1 SEN Teaching Assistant Location: B45 Rubery, Birmingham Weekly Pay: £500-£525 Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm Start Date: ASAP Contract: Long-TermLong Term Futures are seeking a caring and experienced KS1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school near Rubery. This is a full-time role supporting pupils with special educational needs across KS1, working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide targeted 1:1, small-group and classroom support. The successful candidate will be confident adapting learning to meet individual needs and supporting pupils with their communication, emotional regulation, social development and engagement with learning. A calm, consistent and nurturing approach will be particularly important. Responsibilities Provide targeted SEN support across KS1 Deliver 1:1 and small-group interventions Support pupils with additional learning, communication and emotional needs Adapt classroom activities to meet individual pupil needs Use clear routines and consistent strategies to support engagement Support pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour Encourage communication, social interaction and independence Help pupils develop confidence and resilience within the classroom Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team Help maintain a safe, calm and inclusive learning environmentWhat the School is Looking For Previous experience supporting children with SEN within a primary school Experience working with pupils across KS1 Confidence providing both 1:1 and small-group SEN support Experience supporting communication, social and emotional needs Good understanding of positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies Knowledge of visual timetables, Now & Next, PECS and/or Makaton would be beneficial Ability to establish clear and consistent routines A patient, compassionate and resilient approach Strong communication and teamwork skillsAbout the School Welcoming primary and nursery school located near Rubery Strong commitment to inclusion and ensuring every pupil feels valued Places children's emotional wellbeing at the heart of learning Calm and nurturing environment with clear and consistent expectations Strong emphasis on kindness, respect, resilience and positive behaviour Collaborative approach between teaching staff, SEN teams and families Encourages pupils to develop confidence, independence and responsibility Supportive school community committed to helping every child reach their potential Please submit your application via the application page.
