Behaviour Mentor - Primary School Support - Islington, N7 (commutable from Holloway, Highbury, Archway, Finsbury Park, Camden). 105-120 per day. Start Date: ASAP. Contract: Full-time, long-term (Full Academic Year).

Long Term Futures is seeking a calm, confident, and resilient Behaviour Mentor to support pupils with behavioural and emotional needs in a welcoming primary school in Islington. This role is ideal for someone who understands the importance of consistency, clear boundaries, and positive relationships in helping children regulate emotions and re-engage with learning.

You will work closely with teaching staff and the pastoral team to support pupils who may present with challenging behaviour linked to SEMH, trauma, or additional needs.

About the Role

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group behaviour support throughout the school day
  • Using de-escalation strategies and positive behaviour approaches to support regulation
  • Helping pupils manage transitions, routines and classroom expectations
  • Acting as a calm, trusted adult and positive role model
  • Supporting pupils to re-engage with learning following dysregulation
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCo and pastoral staff to adapt strategies
  • Monitoring behaviour and emotional progress and feeding back to staff
