Long Term Futures is working in partnership with a forward-thinking secondary school in Bexley to appoint a confident and proactive Behaviour Mentor. This role is ideal for someone who is experienced in supporting KS3 and KS4 students with a focus on behaviour management, emotional regulation and pastoral support. You'll work closely with the school's pastoral team and Heads of Year, supporting students who are struggling to engage with education due to behavioural or SEMH-related challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring to students identified as needing behaviour or emotional support
  • Support students both in and out of lessons, helping them stay focused, manage emotions, and meet behaviour expectations
  • Liaise with Heads of Year, SENCo, and external professionals to track progress and provide targeted support
  • Assist with intervention programmes focused on confidence, self-esteem, emotional regulation and engagement
  • Contribute to pastoral reports, behaviour plans, and parental updates
  • Help maintain a calm, respectful learning environment and act as a consistent role model

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience supporting students in a secondary school setting is essential
  • Strong background in behaviour support, youth work or SEMH mentoring
  • Calm, confident, and consistent with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning
  • Experience working with challenging behaviour and knowledge of de-escalation strategies
