The Opportunity:
Long Term Futures are seeking a passionate and adaptable Humanities Teacher to join a specialist SEN provision in the Barnet area. The setting supports pupils with a range of complex needs, including Autism (ASD), SEMH, and learning difficulties. This role offers the opportunity to deliver engaging Humanities lessons (e.g. History, Geography, PSHE) within a structured and supportive environment tailored to individual pupil needs. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact through personalised, inclusive teaching.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver differentiated Humanities lessons tailored to SEN learners
- Teach across subjects such as History, Geography, and PSHE
- Adapt the curriculum to meet EHCP targets and individual learning needs
- Create a safe, structured, and engaging classroom environment
- Support pupils' social, emotional, and academic development
- Work collaboratively with support staff, SENCO, and leadership
- Monitor and track pupil progress, adapting strategies where needed
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience working with SEN pupils, ideally in a specialist setting
- Strong understanding of differentiated teaching and inclusive practice
- Ability to teach Humanities subjects across KS3/KS4
- Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
- Patient, adaptable, and nurturing approach
