Attendance Officer – Supporting Engagement & Inclusion | Alternative Provision | North Derbyshire (S21) | September Start Long Term Futures are seeking a committed and proactive Attendance Officer to join our team from September 2025. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mindset, with the ability to identify trends and patterns in data, present findings clearly, and develop action plans based on insight. You\’ll be confident in report writing and presenting to Governors and Ofsted, with a thorough understanding of attendance policy, safeguarding procedures, and the ability to apply them rigorously. What You\’ll Be Doing This is a unique opportunity to work in a flexible and supportive environment, where your contributions, whether on-site or remote, have a direct and meaningful impact. Tracking attendance daily, identifying trends in persistent/severe absence Conducting home visits and liaising with parents/carers to support re-engagement Collaborating with pastoral teams, SEND staff, and external agencies Ensuring attendance registers are compliant with DfE requirements Supporting the implementation of rewards and interventions to encourage good attendance Preparing formal documentation for penalty notices and contributing to wider attendance strategy Analysing data each half-term to target intervention and support planningWho We\’re Looking For Strong interpersonal skills are essential, you\’ll need to work sensitively and supportively with dis-engaged families, maintaining a solution-focused and empathetic approach while building positive relationships that promote student success.
