Long Term Futures are seeking a patient and dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to provide support for a Year 5 child diagnosed with Apert Syndrome and Global Developmental Delay within a mainstream classroom at a welcoming primary school in Northfield, Birmingham. You will work closely with the class teacher and wider team to ensure the pupil receives consistent, tailored support throughout the school day. This is a long-term role with strong potential for a permanent position.
What the School Is Looking For:
- Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent)
- Proven experience supporting children on a 1:1 basis
- Confident supporting SEN, particularly physical and developmental conditions such as Apert Syndrome and Global Delay
- Comfortable working within a mainstream classroom alongside the class teacher
- Familiarity with EHCPs - monitoring, updating, and reviewing pupil progress
- Sound understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum
