The Board of Trustees of The Sixth Form Colleges Trust is seeking to appoint a dynamic and visionary Principal to join Long Road Sixth Form College (Cambridge) to champion our commitment to providing an exceptional educational experience for students, and to empower and inspire them to make a positive difference in the world.
Long Road is a long established Sixth Form College, which recently converted to a MAT. The Sixth Form Colleges Trust is a multi-academy trust consisting of Long Road Sixth Form College (based in Cambridge), and The Sixth Form College Colchester. Established on 1 September 2024, as The Sixth Form Colleges Trust we share a common mission to provide the best education we can for all our students.
As Principal, you will provide the leadership and strategic focus on continual improvement, building upon Long Road’s many existing strengths. You will be committed to a culture of high expectations, leading by example and able to motivate and inspire both staff and students to reach their full potential. You will have a passion for learning, an in-depth knowledge of 16-19 education, and significant senior leadership experience. You will be a creative, resourceful and strategic thinker, and will have the confidence to innovate and respond constructively to changing circumstances and new challenges; and possess the skills to build productive partnerships and champion the College within the community. Long Road is a thriving, successful Sixth Form College with 2,600 16 -18 year old students on roll.
Conveniently located close to the M11 and A14, within easy reach of several areas of outstanding natural beauty and the Norfolk and Suffolk coasts, the College is set next to the Biomedical Campus in its own attractive grounds in the beautiful and expanding Biotechnology city of Cambridge. Long Road was judged by OFSTED to be Good in all five categories, and we are now taking the next steps to become an Outstanding College.
